Post Construction & Commercial Cleaning and Janitorial, Housekeeping, Pest Control & Landscape services
Whilst post-construction cleaning signifies the end of construction phase, it simultaneously demands the beginning of a deliberate maintenance regime which every new property must administer ab initio, to support its active and functional life. Our brief is to execute detailed cleaning specific to a new build, before final handover of the keys to its owner.
Equipment and supplies for post-construction cleaning differ from what obtains for daily janitorial tasks. The use of specialized chemicals for removing paint spills on floors and windows are common, whilst an Industrial capacity vacuum is a basic essential for virtually every section of a new build.
Upon detailed inspection of entire building space with authorizing contractor to assess required work scope, we can deploy the following capacity:
Floor scrubber, buffer, and sweeper
Large dumpster for the leftover construction debris like concrete debris, wood and more
Industrial vacuum cleaner and carpet extractor
Steam cleaner
High-pressure washer
Heavy-duty trash bags and containers
Microfiber cloths
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Cleaning agents and chemicals will include the following:
Floor stripper
All-purpose detergent
Degreasers
Glass cleaners
Bathroom cleaners/disinfectants
Rug pre-sprays
Deodorizers
As a residential and commercial cleaning service, we are invested in the knowledgeable use of these equipment and cleaning agents, greater emphasis on the proper methodologies with which to handle all aspects of the process.
The rough clean phase involves collecting and disposing of all trash, debris and leftover materials without paying attention to detail. The surrounding grounds are typically clogged with construction debris, requiring evacuation from internal and external sections of the
building as follows:
Removal of any debris too large to be vacuumed.
Sweep loose dust and dirt.
Dust down surfaces like ceiling fans, door frames, windows, and cabinets with dry microfiber cloth.
Remove stickers from doors, windows, cabinet handles, and equipment. (Glue residue to be wiped off during phase 3 cleaning stage.)
High-powered vacuum to collect dust and dirt on floors after sweeping.
Some construction and demolition waste may be hazardous, requiring alternative thrashing and disposal methods. These include leftover paints, varnish, adhesives, substance containers, treated wood; products with mercury, asbestos-based construction debris; all of which must be disposed with according to state regulations.
From this phase, all cleaners are kitted with suitable PPE whilst on site.
This is the most labour-intensive phase of post-construction cleaning, requiring a lot of time to ensure all sections of new build are attended to. It is also the phase where specialized cleaning chemicals are used.
Deep cleaning is best done at least a day after the preceding rough clean phase, to allow dust time to settle.
During this pre-final cleaning phase, the following are instructive:
Dust and clean the internal and external sides of cabinets, drawers, counters, shelves, ceiling fans, and door & window frames.
Vacuum and mop hard floors.
Vacuum and steam clean carpeted floors.
Power wash walls and exterior floors such as walkways and driveways.
Vacuum air vents.
Dust and clean walls, windows, baseboards, light switches, and other wall fixtures.
Scrub and sanitize sinks, faucets, and toilets.
Scrub floor tiles, paying attention to grout lines.
Wipe and scrub off scuff marks, paint, and plaster from door hinges, floors, and walls.
Phase 4 is best done several days after the phase 3 deep clean. In reality, dust and dirt take about a week to settle after construction is completed, and we factor this in when planning the cleaning schedule to avoid having to do more than one final touch-up clean.
This phase is the quickest to execute as it involves a simple wipe-down of surfaces with a microfiber cloth, where we focus on dust, dirt smudges, and fingerprints, especially on surfaces like doors and windows. It may be necessary to vacuum again if there is a lot of dust on the floors after the last cleaning.
As a signature, we go over all spaces from top to bottom to ensure no section is overlooked, and imperfections from the earlier phases are touched up. Where possible, we run the AC to check that all vents are dust-free while removing any dirt particles lingering in the air.
Following a phase 4 clean, the facility will be ready for occupation.
